Dean Village sits in a deep valley on the Water of Leith, with red-brick mill buildings, a medieval bridge and a very quiet atmosphere. It feels a world away from the city centre even though it is only 10 minutes from the West End.
The riverside Water of Leith Walkway runs from here to the Gallery of Modern Art and on to Stockbridge, which makes an easy, pretty walk.
