Staying safe in Paris
Pickpockets and hotspots.
Pickpockets are the main risk
Paris is generally safe, but pickpocketing is common in crowded places: metro line 1, RER B, the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, the Louvre and around Châtelet. Use a zipped bag worn in front, keep your phone out of back pockets, and be alert when train doors are closing.
Don't leave your phone on the café table
Phones left on terrace tables are an easy target for snatch thefts. Keep them in your bag or pocket when not in use.
