Sainte-Chapelle Sainte-Chapelle
A jewel box of 13th-century stained glass, glowing on sunny days.

Built by King Louis IX to house relics of the Passion, the upper chapel is enclosed by fifteen windows of stained glass, telling more than a thousand biblical scenes.
The modest lower chapel gives no hint of what awaits upstairs. Climb the narrow spiral stair and let your eyes adjust to the colour.
