The Boqueria has existed for centuries and fills a large iron-roofed hall with fruit, seafood, cured ham and sweets. Many stalls at the front are tourist-oriented, with cups of cut fruit and juice.

For better value, walk to the back and sides, where locals shop and small counters serve hot food, such as eggs with baby squid.

Tickets / priceEntry is free. Snacks cost a few euros; a sit-down counter meal runs about €15 to €25.
Opening hoursUsually open Monday to Saturday from about 8:00 to 20:30, closed Sundays. Check the market website, as hours vary.
